I'm back in Boston after the holidays and it's 65 degrees this fine winter day. The flowers are blooming and the birds are singing. Global warming, wtf? This is totally messing with my head.

I'm back at work, but I'm not really looking forward to the upcoming semester very much, I'm taking two very tech-heavy classes, instead of all the fun classes. Seriously, why are all the children's librarian classes so much more fun? If I liked kids, I would totally consider it. As it is... >.<

It's not wrong! Man, I want a cheesesteak.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: Philadelphia

Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.

Ganked from Thothmuffin. Put your playlist/mp3 player on random, select the first 10 song titles, then add "in my Pants" to the end of each title. This just made my day so much better.

1. "Ore Sama no Boogie Woogie in my Pants," TeniMyu
2. "Get Over in my Pants," Dream
3. "Arigatou in my Pants," Bon'z
4. "You got Game in my Pants," Kimeru
5. "Take my Revolution in my Pants," Utena OST
6. "I'll be the One in my Pants," HAL
7. "Driver's High in my Pants," L'Arc En Ciel
8. "U and UR Hand in my Pants," Pink
9. "Vanilla in my Pants," Gackt
10. "Come in my Pants," So Crazy

Yeah, I've been listening to the JPop. It makes for some, uh, interesting titles.

Hmm, haven't updated in a while. Really nothing's happening though. Well, my sister and brother in law are moving back to Philly in a weird and surprising twist. Matt's doing his, what? Residency? At Upenn, so off they go. It's ok though, because at least I got to hang out with my sister more in the last few months than we have since highschool, so I'm going to chalk it up as a win on my side. (The other side, also the winning side, if you're wondering, is fate.) Liminal and I are playing tennis, and for now I'm acting as a sort of de facto instructor, but she's catching on quick enough that we'll be playing games fairly soon. Of course, we're a little more excited about the color coded tennis outfits we made on cafe press. ^.^; Umm, they're all TeniPuri themed, but it's only appropriate. Oh, and ask me about the musical sometime, SO MUCH LOVE. I think they realized that the primary audience would be girls, so they um, tweaked it a bit. Basically, if you didn't think the Golden Pair were canon BEFORE...

Er, ok, that's enough TeniPuri. We're also watching the Ouran Host Club anime, which is one of the cutest things ever. It's about a girl who has to dress up as a boy and join her high school host club to pay off a debt. Oh, and then there's the Korean drama, which is pretty much exactly like live action shoujo anime, so... good stuff.

Back in real life, the semester is winding down and the work is picking up. I think I have about five papers due in the next month, and I'm trying hard not to think about it too much. And I finally got a job actually IN my field, so I'm busier, if better funded.

Haha, ok, this quiz? It's not the results that are funny, it's the questions. Take it!

OMG, Update, wtf?!!!

Haha, look, I'm updating! I should, um, really try to update more because now I have more news than I can conveniently impart at once. Since I have a paper due tomorrow, I thought now would be a good time to take a stab at it. Oh well, I'll try to keep to the essentials, which I have divided into two catagories: My Personal Life, and Cool Stuff I've Watched/Read.

My Life (what I have of one):

I have started at grad school, learning of the library science! Ok, yeah, it's about what you'd expect, with teachers who get excited about dictionaries, and etc. I mean, dictionaries are actually quite interesting but I've never been on intimate terms with one, and that's all I have to say about that.

The school is filled with girls of the cool and slashy kind, and for a convenient (i.e. not written by me) illustrative annecdote, you can click here. There was also a girl who put me back on the track of Kyou Kara Maou which pretty much explodes with plot right after I left off... oh, and it's available by torrent despite being liscensed. And then there was the girl who admitted to learning about the war of 1812 via Due South (as you do), so you can see I'm pretty much in good company.

Last week was spring break, so Lan and I broke out the anime marathons, as is our custom, and I learned how to knit. I'm now working on my very own "tard scarf." I still don't have a job, and I'm avoiding all communication with my parents until I do.

And the good part, Cool Stuff:

I guess I mentioned KKM in the last section, so I'll leave it at that, except to mention that the various parts that involve people losing body parts all come out ok, and that unlike Lan, I'm rather pro-Yozak. ^.^

TeniPuri is going well, but we're watching conservatively now that we're back on school work and can't take in an entire tournament in one sitting. It's also made me want to take up tennis again, and I might have to borrow a racket from my sister and head to the courts. Of course, I might end up taking a nap instead.

Please refer to Liminal for a more constructive critique on Howl's Moving Castle, although I will put forward my opinion that Miyazaki drew an unexpectedly BURNING HOT Howl. Like, damn! For those who know the book, he actually had Sophie sort of transition slowly between being old and young as she broke the spell, which was a very interesting approach. Calcifer and Michael were cutesified, but not annoyingly so, and most of the plot was dropped entirely in favor of a made up war and enemy. My reaction, by the end was along the lines of "wtf?" but I don't regret seeing it.

I'm learning to love the Wodehouse, mainly because of Hugh Laurie who starred in the BBC production of Jeeves and Wooster, and while the show is very, erm, British and bizarre, the books are a little more subtle and warm. Still, you kind of need both to get the really delightful Stephen Fry image of Jeeves in your head when you hit the books. So smirky! Hugh Laurie is pretty much playing a character the exact opposite of House, and is adorably young and un-stubled. By the way, I found the tv series at the local library and some of the books on the Gutenberg webpage, so it's easy to get into for free, and oh yes, there's a slash fandom for it for those inclined in that direction... I mean, people are not kidding when they say Wodehouse wrote his two leads like a married couple.

Hmm, I think that's it!

Update: Still working on the paper, but omg, I read this on Fox's webpage for the next episode of House:

NEXT EPISODE 3/28
"CLUELESS"

"... When Wilson moves in with House after his separation, House discovers he is a great cook."

Um, I think I've read that fic. ^.^;
